The IPM is a registered charity which provides training and undertakes research in psychosexual medicine. We welcome doctors and allied heath professionals. Our trained professionals can help people with a wide range of sexual difficulties.

This website provides information for professionals who wish to train in psychosexual medicine and for people who would like to find more help and advice about sexual problems.

The IPM was founded in 1974 based on psychoanalytic principles introduced by Dr Michael Balint and Dr Tom Main, both psychoanalysts. Training has been developed to offer specialist skills to doctors and allied health professionals.
