Introductory Training Courses

The IPM is delighted to offer an online version of its Introduction to Psychosexual Medicine Course. This will consist of some semi-formal teaching and case discussions.  It will be offered via a secure Zoom platform.  We do also hope to start introducing more face to face Introductory Courses in the near future.

Participants should have some experience of working with patients with sexual difficulties and a good command of the English language.

Our courses are suitable for doctors: GPs, GUM, O&G, family planning, dermatology, psychiatry, urology and are also open to nurses, physiotherapists and others working in sexual health.

Sessions consist of teaching, discussion and case presentation by group members.  If after attending this introductory course, you would then like to continue training towards the IPM Diploma, these 12 hours are carried over and count towards the required attendance hours to sit the exam.

Please note, from September 2021, all trainees working towards the IPM Diploma, will be required to attend this Introductory Term, prior to sitting the Diploma Examination.

Duration: a total of twelve hours arranged over 3 - 6 sessions and a certificate of attendance will be provided at the end of the course.

Fees:  Doctors: £300 per course / Allied Health Professionals: £250 per course.

As this course works best in small group numbers, places are limited to 10 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Please note this course is also available as bespoke course and can be delivered to internal teams or departments - contact for more information.  We will also offer this course face to face when current restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so.

To register for our online Introductory Term, using the link below complete the registration form and from the 'Introductory Training Group' dropdown either select the course reference or alternatively select 'IT Online Waiting' and you will be contacted when new course dates are announced.
